Meet the newest member of our pack
Charchen’s Mama’s Broken Heart (call name Frannie) arrived on Tuesday December 17th and the pack welcomed her with open arms. Born October 11th (the day after Raina) this little 9 week old spit fire walked into a house with multiple German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and more and acted like she owned the place. Her future here at EIK9 holds a bit of a double duty, not only will she continue in her mother and fathers footsteps and become a champion in the AKC ring but she will also be working as a therapy dog alongside Kaze and Franky. Her personality is perfect, and she really does hold true to the statement that therapy dogs are born and not made. Having already met over 100 people this sweet angelic little girl has a kiss and tail wag for every person she meets and every dog she sees. A true respectable breeder in the pug world shows it makes all the difference to do your research and purchase a dog responsibly, if not go rescue, doggies like Anna, Franky, Kaze, and Mia thank you for it!!
Flashback Friday
Wordless Wednesday
Whats in a birthday
Franky’s big adventure
Frank made his debut kayak trip last month and a week later got a follow up with the seniors from the school. I don’t think i have ever seen a pug take to the water like this guy!
He was so excited he jumped into the kayak on his own!!! Most of the time he just soaked up the sun and enjoyed the cool breeze.
Frank is a wonderful dog, he has overcome many issues since he first entered the pack 3 years ago. He is trusting and confident now, he knows i will not put him in harms way and that he is safe and secure in everything he does. He surprised me many times on this kayak trip when he waded out chest deep in the water himself to swim, this is the same pup who walked into the deep end of a pool years ago and wouldn’t go near water. The german girls helped him a lot over the last few summers desensitizing and showing him that water was ok. The power of social learning!
It’s a holiday weekend?
Well of course we humans know its a holiday weekend but honestly the dogs have no idea. Despite numerous k9 injuries all weekend long (the human actually stayed semi healthy!) we still made the best of what we had. Friday was a quite morning and mom got to celebrate her birthday with a long pack hike. It was peaceful and relaxing. The dogs too enjoyed it even though mom always makes them behave during these things!!!
The weekend was filled with an enjoyed balance of outside sun and fresh air and nice quite evenings by the fire in the backyard. As usual the afternoons were doggie nap time
And then back to the wilderness we returned!!!!
Sometimes words aren’t necessary…….i’m pretty sure the pictures say it all!
Work time

Bark the same language
Speaking the language of another species is not easy, far from it. We were born with a spoken language why would we use something else? What people fail to see is we were also born with a body, and that demands much more respect than words.
Every interaction you have with a dog you use your body, either good or bad. In order to have the best communication and best relationship with your dog you have to understand what your body means and how to use it.
Words and tones make up some of our canine communication but save it for special times, times you need the dog to really listen or acknowledge you and your existence. When you work obedience or have a training session make sure your upbeat and have a happy high pitch voice, this is what dogs like and believe me their is a huge difference in the dogs behavior depending on your tone!
Remember trained dogs are happy dogs and make happy owners.
DOGS ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS THEIR OWNERS TRAIN THEM TO BE!!!! So be proud of your dogs!!!!!
